From sign-up to your first room in minutes.
Homvi sets up your home for you, then you fill it in one photo at a time.
Enter your address
We try to pull your beds, baths, and square footage from public records to pre-build your rooms. Anything we can't find, you fill in — and you can edit it all later.
Confirm your rooms
Homvi seeds a room list from your bed and bath count. Rename, delete, or add rooms — kitchen, garage, closet, office, outdoor, whatever fits your home.
Photograph your first room
Take a photo of each room and Homvi identifies the most prominent items it finds — up to 10 per shot — with an estimated replacement value for each. Review, tweak, and save. That's your inventory started.
Four ways to add an item — and when to use each.
Inside any room you can add items four ways. Most people scan a room with a photo first, then clean up details by hand. Mix and match freely.
Take a photo
Snap a photo and Homvi's AI identifies the most prominent items it finds — up to 10 per shot — and estimates a replacement value for each. Deselect anything you don't want and edit names or values before you save. This is the quickest way to cover a lot of ground.
Upload a photo
Exactly the same AI as Take a photo, but you pick an existing image from your library instead of shooting live — handy for photos you took earlier or shots of a receipt.
Scan a barcode
Point your camera at the barcode and Homvi looks it up, filling in the product name, brand, model, and a value. It's worth a quick check — recorded prices can be dated, and niche products are sometimes a best guess.
Add manually
Jewelry in a drawer, an unlabeled antique, or anything you just want to enter yourself. Name, category, and value are all that's required — add brand, model, serial number, purchase date, and a photo whenever you like.
No matter which method you use, you always review and edit before anything is saved — and Homvi flags an item that looks like one you've already added, so you don't double up.
Wide shot or close-up?
Homvi reads whatever's in the frame, so the same camera works two ways depending on what you need.
Wide room shot — breadth, fast
Stand back and capture as much of the room as you can. Homvi pulls out many items at once. Great for furniture, decor, and the bulk of a room. Fine detail like serial numbers usually won't show at this distance.
Close-up — one item, in detail
Move in on a single high-value item — a TV, a watch, a power tool. A clear shot of the label lets Homvi capture the make, model, and serial number — exactly the detail worth recording for anything valuable.
For best results, use clear, well-lit photos. Photos can be JPG, PNG, or HEIC.
